About Us
ModJods are made for equestrians, by equestrians. Owner Lynne Moeller Brauch and her daughters represent four generations of equestrians with American Saddlebreds, starting with her grandfather and her mother in North Carolina.
Lynne showed throughout the Carolinas and later in Missouri, where she graduated from Stephens College–renown for their equestrian program. Daughters Katie and Caroline followed with successful careers in equitation and performance in both the Midwest and Kentucky under the direction of Max Ciampoli, Brooke Graves and Lillian Shively.
Our History
It was in 2005, when the girls started showing, that ModJods began. Lynne, along with Jean Mutrux, both horse show moms and Stephens’ grads, decided to make fun jods for little girls. Of course, daughters Katie and Caroline Moeller and Abby Mutrux (8 and 10 years old at the time) were the inspiration. The colorful patterns and fun fabrics soon attracted the attention of all ages. So in year two, ModJods were also made in adult sizes. Soon came requests for a “jean jod”, which had the look of the jean, but the shape and function of a jod.
The Finest Quality Jod On The Market
The comfort and fit of these original patterns appealed to all. And in response to professionals who preferred more sedate fabrics, the Elite and Signature jods in basic colors were created. Shortly thereafter, ModJods was asked to be the official supplier of jods to the U.S. and Canadian World Cup Saddleseat Teams, and provided this service for over a decade.
The super stretchy, sleek Signature jods became extremely popular and are used now frequently as jods for show as well as for practice. Many riders will attest to the durability and longevity of these high quality jods.
“ModJods truly values its loyal customers. The innovations and new patterns we’ve developed have come in response to our client requests and we plan to continue with the introduction of new product lines in the near future,” says Lynne. “We believe that once you buy our jods, you will be our customer forever, and that is our goal, for sure.”
